Water is one of those things that a human being cannot do without. While a person may be able to survive without food for a week or more, without water a person is soon reduced to a very ill creature. While water has always been taken for granted, there is a new interest in this precious commodity that we have always thought would never run out. But as pollution of our fresh water supply becomes an ever growing problem, the search for fresh and clean water is becoming a desperate one and big business as well. Many businesses offer free water to their clients or even sell water on the premises for various reasons. While there are many bottled water companies around, having your own personalized bottled water to sell is a big advantage.
Personalized bottled water is becoming an interesting movement in the bottled water market. Take a gym, for example. People who go to a gym require water to be hydrated during their workout and people, being people, often forget to bring along their water bottle every now and then. While it is a very capitalist attitude, the gym can then offer these people bottled water. But if the bottled water is personalized with the gym's name and even logo, then the bottled water can become a marketing tool if the person takes the bottle outside of the gym at some later stage.
The principle is actually quite simple. A water bottling company bottles the water that it pumps from a spring or some other natural resource. They package it, test it, clean it, and do whatever needs to be done to bottled water before it is safe for consumption and sale. Once this is done, however, they do not just put any old label on the bottle. Instead their clients, like the gym mentioned above, asks them to put specific labels on the bottled water that supports their brand name and image. While the water bottling company obviously has its own brand on the bottle as well, the main image is that of the client. The water bottling company sells the water to their client, often at a wholesale price with a fee for the labels, and then the client can sell the water or do whatever they want to do with the personalized bottled water.
While it may seem like a lot of effort just for some extra marketing it is well worth the effort. The gym mentioned earlier aside, a real estate agent, for example, could offer his or her clients a bottle of water while they are showing houses. The bottle then serves as the business card for that particular agent and, since it is actually useful, the client is more likely to keep it around rather than just throw it away almost immediately. Personalized bottled water has many uses if you can find a way to exploit the marketing advantage that is part of it. Water may be a simple thing, but it can be a very potent thing as well.
